Flo From Colorado Patients First in Longmont

flo sativa dominant strainFlo is a  sativa dominant herb. The batch we bought had lots of smaller dense, cone shaped buds that are covered with large orange hairs and looked glazed with trichome crystals . Flo provides an energetic, higher motivating buzz. We suggest this as a good morning or social smoke. The flavor and aroma have  a floral quality, with a hint of the blueberry.

We purchased this sample of Flo from Colorado Patients First in Longmont.  Where did the name ‘Flo” come from?  Well, if I understand right this strain will keep flowering after the first harvest and continue to produce buds for several weeks after initial harvest.

August Strain of the Month – GodBud from Longmont Colorado Patients First

godbud from colorado patients firstOne of the most highly recommended strains that we have sampled to date.  GodBud from Colorado Patients First is an indica strain that boasts very dense buds with tons of trichome crystals.  The aroma is very unique and even a little tough to identify.  After taking a first puff my partner described it as tasting “..Like heaven with a hint of vanilla”.  The high from this batch of GodBud is second to none, you will not be very functional after smoking a few hits of this potent marijuana.  I experienced an intense body high and powerful head haze within ten minutes of finishing the first bowl.  Even for seasoned smokers, a few hits of GodBud should be enough to keep you irie for several hours.

Best smoked from a bong with an ice catcher or large spoon pipe we definitely recommend this strain to help increase your appetite, relieve stress and as works great as a sleep aid.  The best way to describe the scent and flavor is in comparison to vanilla.  The smoke is very smooth and tastes phenomenal.

NYC Diesel + G13 Cross from Colorado Patients First

g13 + nyc dieselWe sampled a batch NYC Diesel + G13 cross, a sativa dominant strain (60/40).  The buds were of medium to light density and a little dry but we were warned by the clerk that it would be a little dry upon purchasing.  As you can see from the picture, there were tons of bright orange hairs and the buds appear glazed with THC crystals.  This Diesel G13 cross had a very distinct earthy aroma.  Upon crushing up the buds, there is a nice citrus scent that is noticed.  The smoke was a little harsh but certainly tasted nice.  I noticed a quick body high after the first few puffs and sure enough a nice stoney haze set in after about ten minutes.  Not a super long lasting high but definitely a good strain to have in stock.  Good for increasing your appetite!

Snicker Doodle Cookies by North Shore Edibles

Snicker Doodle Cookies Marijuana Food by North Shore EdiblesI grabbed a package of two Snicker Doodle Cookies from my Altitude Wellness Center in Denver the other day.  When I finally decided to grub on these cookies I was certainly happy with my selection (I never know which edibles to go with).  North Shore Edibles produced these delectable, large cookies.  They taste phenomenal!  There’s a slight aroma of heady herb when you are eating the cookie but there is no visible evidence of plant matter.

I enjoyed both of the cookies in one sitting like anybody who knows how to eat a snicker doodle would.. with milk :)   Shortly after ingesting both cookies completely I felt a mildly intense euphoric sensation and a nice body high beginning to set in.  Within an hour after eating the cookies I was feeling pretty irie but still very functional.  The buzz was not very hazy nor did it make me lethargic.  After a fthree or four hours I still felt a mild body high and light stone from the snicker doodle cookies, it eventually wore off nicely.  I recommend using this medible as a substitute for a mild analgesic (tylenol, aspirin).   Definitely would love to take a couple of these cookies to the next movie I see, the stone is good and it’s not going to knock you out.

Purple Kush from Green Cross Caregivers in Denver

Purple KushWe stopped by Green Cross Caregivers in Denver recently, after filling out some paperwork we asked the clerk to recommend us some powerful, heavy cannabis.  The man took out a couple bottles and especially recommended the Purple Kush for a heavy stone and sleep aid.

These indica buds are very dense and have a deep round flavor, a little harsh out of a pipe but great ground up and smoked in a blunt laced with hash oil.  Heavy in density, this Purple Kush looks dark green with long orange hairs and large purple fan leaves all over the flower.  The man is right, this is a good sedative, didn’t make halfway through my movie.

At 1842 S. Parker Rd in Denver, look for the green cross sign.  It looked like they had a nice selection but we didn’t have time to browse we just asked for their recommendations.  Cheerful staff, in and out in fifteen minutes on my first visit.

BlueBand Hybrid from Green Cross Caregivers in Southeast Denver

BlueBand HybridToday we sampled BlueBand hybrid from Green Cross Caregivers in Denver.  The BlueBand hybrid an indica dominant blend that features the tasty blueberry flavor and stone but also a good mental buzz from the headband.

The buds were of medium density and smelled and tasted truly blue.  When crushing up the herb we also experienced a light lemon scent probably thanks to the sativa headband.  This is one of our favorite strains to smoke right now because of it’s flavor and smoothness of the smoke.

We recommend BlueBand as a good midday sample and it’s flavor should be enjoyed to the fullest in a vaporizer, bong with ice catcher or spliff.  We are very satisfied with our first purchase from Green Cross Cannabis.  $55/eight *note this location is not currently accepting credit/debit or check.

Hash Plant From Colorado Patients First in Longmont

hash plant colorado patients firstWe just got a nice batch of hash plant from Colorado Patients First in Longmont.  This herb strain is a 50/50 blend with an earthy citrus scent.  A really nice head high but still functional.  These buds are of medium density with thick orange hairs and should be ground up nicely before smoking… or vape it!  There is a strong hashy taste when smoked in a pipe or joint but flavor is better enjoyed from a water pipe or bong with an ice catcher is my favorite way to smoke this hash plant.

A little pricey at $60/eighth, the stone from this cannabis is long lasting!  After smoking there is a nice euphoric, even intese high followed by a couple hours of good head haze.  Not going to put you to sleep right away so try this strain after a meal or a couple hours before bed.

Yet another bud from Colorado Patients First :)   Our next review is coming from Denver.  We really like Colorado Patients First in Longmont though, lots of great strains there and welcoming staff.

Island Sweet Skunk from Green Medical Referrals

sweet island skunkA while back we picked up some nice looking Island Sweet Skunk which is a blend I think 70/30 sativa.  The buds are of medium density and have some really bright orange hairs.  A fruity but distinct skunky aroma comes when crushing up the buds in the grinder.  This is a very tasty smoke which is smooth and has a light earthy taste.

This only cost $45/eighth, which is a good value for a skunk strain.  Preferred method of smoking is probably from a large spoon pipe or small water bong.  The disctinct skunk smell really takes presence when the bud is burning.

I like the buzz as it does not knock you on the floor which keeps you functional.  Nice herb to smoke in the daytime, highly recommended for patients that want to increase their appetite.  We found this batch of Island Sweet Skunk at Green Medical Referrals LLC in Dacono, Colorado.

Afghani Kush from Colorado Patients First

afghani kushAnother choice selection from Colorado Patients First we recently sampled the Afghani Kush.  This is a heavy indica blend that is bright lime green and the buds are quite dense and still very sticky.  When smoking this batch of Afghani we picked up a very fruity flavor.  I initially thought, damn this shit tastes like peach cobbler! Certainly one of our most flavorful smokes this week.

Enjoy this bud from a vaporizer or bong.  It wont be easy to crush this weed up in your hands if your going to smoke it in a pipe or spliff so be sure to use a clean grinder.  The crystals on this gooey Aghani are abundant and the fan leaves and thick orange hairs are characteristic of a heavy indica.

We recommend this strain especially for pain relief or sleep aid.  A very stoney high, you’ll want to just pop in a movie and kick back for a couple hours.  At $19/gram this is a nice herb to have in your medicine cabinet.

Purple Lady from Colorado Patients First

purple lady sativaJust sampled the Purple Lady strain we recently purchased for $60/eight at Colorado Patients First.  This is a sativa dominant herb, the buds look glazed with white crystals.. Not seeing much ‘purple’ in leaf or bud color a little more lime green with lots of orange hairs. The aroma when pinching the bud is a fruity but peppery scent with a touch of skunk. Clean high, very mental, maybe a little trippy it’s a great morning or social smoke if you’re comfortable with your company otherwise it can cause mild paranoia.

Purple Lady should be enjoyed out of a long spoon, bong or spliff.  The smoke is clean and not very harsh.   By far my favorite sampled sativa herb this month!

We also shared a pre-rolled spliffs of this Purple Lady sealed with hash oil we got from CO Patients First, Let me just say, WOW that’s some tasty and potent marijuana!  Each spliff was $15, we enjoyed it in the early afternoon,  I didn’t smoke anything the rest of the day besides a small puff of an indica dominant bud before bed.
